wodim is used to record data or audio CDs on a CD-Recorder or to write
DVD media on a DVD-Recorder.

VNC is a set of programs using the RFB (Remote Frame Buffer) protocol.
They are designed to "export" a frame buffer via the network. It is in
wide use for administration.

X.org has a virtual Xvnc server which you can start as an own screen
(e.g. :1) and connect to with a VNC client (e.g. vncviewer from
tightvnc). This package contains the x11vnc binary that allows you to
export a screen of a running non-virtual X11 server. x11vnc has been
split off LibVNCServer on 2007-07-16.

xclip is a command line interface to the X11 clipboard. It can also be used
for copying files, as an alternative to sftp/scp, thus avoiding password
prompts when X11 forwarding has already been setup.

Xdelta3 is a set of tools designed to compute changes between binary files. These changes (delta files) are similar to the output of the "diff" program, in that they may be used to store and transmit only the changes between files. The "delta files" that Xdelta3 manages are stored in RFC3284 (VCDIFF) format.

Yate is a next-generation telephony engine. While currently focused on Voice
over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and PSTN, its power lies in its ability to be
easily extended. Voice, video, data and instant messenging can all be unified
under Yate's flexible routing engine, maximizing communications efficiency and
minimizing infrastructure costs for businesses.

Ardesia is the free digital sketchpad software that help you to make colored
free-hand annotations with digital ink everywhere, record it and share on the
network. It is easy to use and impressively fast and reactive. You can draw
upon the desktop or import an image and annotate it and redistribute your work
to the world. Let's create quick sketch and artwork.

Thanks to Ardesia you are free to open any application and fix your ideas and
comments as if you wrote on a classic chalkboard. Tradition and innovation are
living together in simplicity thanks to a natural user interface that reproduce
the natural feeling of the free hand painting. Reduce the traditional
whiteboard and paper usage; Ardesia is smooth and fuzzy!

You can use the tool to make effective on-screen presentation, highlight things
or point out things of interest. The tool facilitates the online presentations
and demos showing in real time your computer screen to anyone in the network.

You can use this tool to enhance your lessons or courses working with your
preferred applications and your preferred operating system.

ised is a command-line tool for generating number sequences and arithmetic evaluation.

Unlike big GUI-based software (such as Mathematica, Derive, Matlab, or Octave), ised is intended for use in shell scripting, together with the GNU core utilities.

Its main advantage is that all functions are generalized to operate on one-dimensional arrays. It can be used for loop indexing (much like seq), line-by-line arithmetic processing of files, floating point math for shells that don't support it natively, or interactive expression evaluation (i.e. as an extended calculator).

APG (Automated Password Generator) is a tool set for generating random
passwords. A standalone tool generates some random words of the required type
and prints them to standard output. A networked client/server following RFC972
is also provided.

Chrootuid makes it easy to run a network service at low privilege level and
with restricted file system access. At Eindhoven University we use this program
to run the gopher and www (world-wide web) network daemons in a minimal
environment: the daemons have access only to their own directory tree, and run
under a low-privileged userid. The arrangement greatly reduces the impact of
possible loopholes in daemon software.

Corkscrew is a tool for tunneling SSH through HTTP proxies.

Corkscrew has been tested against several proxies requiring HTTP authentication. Several flaws exist as only basic authentication is currently supported. Digest authentication may be supported in the future. NTLM authentication will most likely never be supported.

IP Tables State implements the "state top" feature from IP Filter for
IP Tables. "State top" displays the states held by your stateful firewall in a
"top"-like manner. Since IP Tables doesn't have a built-in way to easily
display this information once, an option was added to iptstate to do this.

Keychain helps you to manage ssh and GPG keys in a convenient and secure manner. It acts as a frontend to ssh-agent and ssh-add, but allows you to easily have one long running ssh-agent process per system, rather than the norm of one ssh-agent per login session.

This dramatically reduces the number of times you need to enter your passphrase. With keychain, you only need to enter a passphrase once every time your local machine is rebooted. Keychain also makes it easy for remote cron jobs to securely "hook in" to a long running ssh-agent process, allowing your scripts to take advantage of key-based logins.

PinkTrace is a lightweight C99 library that eases the writing of tracing
applications.

It consists of the following parts:
* Wrappers around different ptrace() requests.
* An API for decoding arguments (strings, socket addresses, ...)
* An experimental API for encoding arguments.

generate its crypted equivalent.

SSH (Secure Shell) is a program for logging into and executing commands on a remote machine. It is intended to replace rsh (rlogin and rsh) and provides openssl (secure encrypted communication) between two untrusted hosts over an insecure network.

xorg-x11 (X Window System) connections and arbitrary TCP/IP ports can also be forwarded over the secure channel.

This alternative openssh package contains the HPN-13 (High Performance Networking) patches developed by the Web100 project: http://www.psc.edu/networking/projects/hpn-ssh/

It adds the following features:
- dynamic TCP windows
- "NONE" cipher for no encryption and high performance
- threaded CTR cipher mode (AES) for much higher throughput on multi-core systems (experimental)
- peak throughput: modifies the scp progress bar to display the 1 second throughput average; on completion of the transfer, it will display the peak throughput through the life of the connection

WhatWeb fingerprints Web servers and Web applications. It can identify content
management systems (CMS), Web application frameworks, default pages for Web
servers, blogs, JavaScript libraries, and more.... Each time you visit a Web
site in your browser, the Web server leaks many hints about the software
delivering the Web page. WhatWeb recognizes these hints and reports what it
finds. WhatWeb has over 70 plugins. Plugins can identify systems with obvious
signs removed by looking for subtle clues. Plugins are flexible and can return
any datatype. For example, plugins can return version numbers, email addresses,
account IDs, and more
