That's a bad idea.
This broke a lot of things in d-l-py -- im not sure it is wise to accept this higher up the chain.

It's not breaking it, it's causing a choice for the obs scheduler that needs to be clarified. This is for the dl:py maintainers to fix in the project config. In Factory the problem will not exist as there will be only one version of it after the rename.
Still, the package should have the obsoletes/provides in it, otherwise it may move from Factory into a release area where the old name is much more likely to exist in a Requires.
Not to mention the impact it has on people who have custom rpms which Require the old name.
The fact that python2- provides python- is what creates the problem to begin with.
