Is it needed by any other package?
If not I think it would make more sense to update Godot to 3.x if released and create a package godot2 for old packages if needed.
(So without version suffix = current, with suffix = legacy).
Godot 3.x is not released yet, and it will likely not be for a while.
However, Godot 3 will bring lot of changes and it is not compatible. If you want to learn the new things or port your games, having a preview of it is very valuable (therefore the 2.99+git version).
If you are not interested in having the preview of 3.0 here, feel free to reject the request and I will keep it in my home project.
Once 3.0 is released godot package should be updated from 2.4.x to 3.0 (and it should obsolete godot3). Godot 2.x may be copied to godot2 in case someone needs the old version to develop non-ported games.
